Join the Mission: We're Building a Team

A diverse group of people collaborating on a high-tech console, symbolizing unified effort.

NexaVision is more than a project; it's a movement to bring unifying clarity to a divided world. We are building a team from the ground up, based on passion, aptitude, and a shared commitment to the mission. We believe a diverse, "motley crew" with varied skills and perspectives will always outperform a monoculture. This is an invitation to be a part of something foundational.

Our Ethos: The NexaVision Way

Aptitude Over Credentials

We value what you can do and your passion for learning over formal degrees. We're looking for problem-solvers and creative thinkers. Everyone starts somewhere, and we believe in providing the mentorship to help you grow.

Founders' Table & Governance

These are volunteer roles, but they are foundational. Early, key contributors will not just build projects; you'll have a seat at the table to help shape our Articles of Incorporation, our governance, and the future of the NexaVision Tech Union. Your voice will define our direction.

Growth From Within

Every member of our team is a "soldier" first—dedicated to the core mission. From there, you can specialize and grow. A data curator today could be our lead data scientist tomorrow. We are a team that learns and rises together.

Remote Volunteer Opportunities (Priority)

Our digital infrastructure and intellectual horsepower are the backbone of our mission. We are seeking passionate individuals from anywhere in the world to help build, analyze, and create.

Project Leads & Architects

Geospatial Data Engineer & Project Lead (Magpi Vision)

This is a leadership role for a visionary who sees the limitations of current GIS platforms. You believe in the power of open-source and high-performance computing to build something better. You will lead the charge in developing "Magpi," our vision for a next-generation, highly parallel open GIS platform.

Key Interests & Skills:
  • Expertise in spatial modeling and a passion for parallel processing.
  • Experience with or a strong desire to learn high-performance languages like **Mojo** to overcome Python's GIL limitations.
  • Frustration with the performance bottlenecks in platforms like QGIS and a drive to architect a superior solution.
  • The ability to lead a project and mentor a team of developers and analysts.

Database Administrator (DBA) / Data Architect

You are the guardian of our most valuable asset: data. We need someone who lives and breathes data integrity, efficiency, and elegant design. Your work will be the foundation for everything from our GIS analysis to our open-source intelligence projects.

Key Interests & Skills:
  • Deep understanding of database principles (joins, keys, normalization).
  • Experience with PostgreSQL (**PostGIS** is a huge plus!), MySQL, or even Oracle/Java.
  • A mindset for efficiency: using the right data types and optimizing queries.
  • Interest in object-oriented (OODB) and vector database concepts is a bonus.

Technical & Digital Builders

Frontend Web Developer

You translate our mission and data into compelling, accessible web experiences. You'll work on everything from our main website to creating interactive data visualizations for projects like "The Citizen's Lens."

Key Interests & Skills:
  • Proficient in HTML, CSS, and modern JavaScript.
  • A good eye for UX/UI design and a passion for making complex information easy to understand.
  • Manages the CA root and ensures web security is paramount.

Network & Security Specialist

You are the protector of our digital fortress. As we build our independent infrastructure, your expertise will be crucial in designing a secure, resilient, and scalable network. This role may overlap with directory services (LDAP/Active Directory).

Key Interests & Skills:
  • Experience with network architecture, firewalls, and security protocols.
  • Knowledge of virtualization (virtual networks, bridges, etc.).
  • Understanding of identity and access management (LDAP, Active Directory).

Research, Analysis & Strategy

Thinkers & Strategists (Philosophy, Anthropology, Behavioral Science)

You wrestle with the "why." We need deep thinkers to help us hammer out our ethos, analyze behavioral patterns, and guide our strategy for balancing information operations. Your insights will ensure our "what" is always grounded in a profound "why."

Key Interests & Skills:
  • A background in philosophy, anthropology, sociology, or behavioral psychology.
  • A passion for ethical frameworks and the study of human systems.
  • Interest in applying your knowledge to real-world information and social dynamics.

Remote Sensing & GIS Analyst

You can see the world in layers of data. You'll work on high-impact projects, from change detection in conflict zones to mapping spheres of influence. Your analysis will provide the "ground truth" for our research and video content.

Key Interests & Skills:
  • Experience with GIS software (QGIS, Esri ArcPro).
  • Knowledge of remote sensing principles and satellite imagery analysis.
  • We'll provide practical, real-world tasks that build on your expertise.

The Backbone Team

Project Generalists & Data Curators

You are the essential core of the operation. No specific training is required, just a sharp mind, a passion for the mission, and a willingness to learn. You'll start with tasks like data entry, research, and content curation, with clear paths to grow into more specialized roles.

Key Interests & Skills:
  • Attention to detail and a methodical approach.
  • A desire to learn GIS, data management, or other technical skills.
  • High school diploma is the only prerequisite. We will teach you the rest.

Veterans (Logistics & Security)

Your experience in logistics, planning, and security is invaluable. As we grow and establish physical infrastructure, we need disciplined and reliable individuals to lead these efforts. We are actively seeking veterans to join our ranks and bring their unique skills to our mission.

Key Interests & Skills:
  • Military background with experience in logistics, supply chain, or physical security.
  • A knack for strategic planning and operational integrity.
  • A desire to apply your skills to a mission for civic good.
